Your Community Support

We at Side by Side Care understand the importance of still being a part of your community no matter what care and support needs you may have.  This is why our staff are trained to support you in this, whether its doing the weekly shopping, going for a meal, visiting to the library, having a coffee, attending your place of worship / religion – we are there to keep you engaged in your local community.

All of our staff receive in-depth training on safety around the home, such as:

  • Moving and handling
  • Infection control
  • Effective food & hand hygiene
  • First Aid

All staff receive a common induction programme over seven days alongside the completion of the New Care Certificate, incorporating the 15 Standards of care when they start, and then an induction specific to their job role and responsibility.

All of our care and support staff are encouraged and supported to gain qualifications to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) Level 2 Diploma within 12 months of employment with us.

All our staff are thoroughly trained and retrained to ensure they are compliant in areas such as the administration of medication.  Additionally staff receive comprehensive training on dementia training and awareness and end of life (palliative care).
